After my grandmother's death, we discovered that she was married in 1908 to John Braswell from Eufaula, AL. We have not been able to find any additional information on their divorce or his death. My grandmother's name was Fanny Fay Kinney. She married my grandfather, Charles Franklin Quinn, in Calhoun County, AL in 1912.

My mother is Vickie Elizabeth Braswell Moss Ledford from Gastonia, NC. Her father was Malley Levingston Braswell married to Thelma Estelle Warren Braswell. Barjonas Braswell (Jonas Ridge was named after) was my mother's uncle or great uncle. Researching to see if there is a connection here.

Looking for any/all info on Braswell family in North Carolina...specifically Nash County, NC, and Beaufort County, NC.
Have none of the usual resources...bibles, etc....I'm to 1841 (Henry Braswell in Nash County), my great great grandfather and am at a dead end there. Braswell is not a common surname, at least in Eastern North Carolina. Can/will anyone share info...I will respond with the info I do have.

I am Diann Braswell True the second child born of Robert Douglas "Doug" Braswell Sr., married Sarah "Roberta" Huff, "Doug" born in Kentucky and raised in Gallatin, TN. Has lived in Indianapolis,IN area, Louisville,KY ,a few years in Tarpon Springs,FL and most of life and his death was in Charlestown,IN where he had his hands in several grocery business's over the years. First child, Robert D. Braswell Jr. (Bobby) former Mayor & Sweet Shop Owner for many years in Charlestown,IN is deceased. I'm in Indy and my other 2 siblings Evelyn "Darlene" Akemon (named after our Aunt, Evelyn Braswell Pearson and Ronald "Ron" Hubert Braswell (named after our Grandpa Hubert Braswell of Gallatin TN.) both live in Charlestown,IN. Our foster brother, Tim Faulkner lives in the southern Indiana area. I know I have cousins in Indy but never contacted them (my bad). I've always loved having been blessed to be a BRASWELL!
